(The Second) Nine Months

Kirsten says the "second" nine months are way better than the first nine.

Here are some things Brooklyn likes to do:
- Splash and kick in the pool (she's been going to a water babies class on Saturdays)
- Wave "Hi" and "Bye"
- Say "Mama" and "Dada"
- Climb on top of things and people
- Listen to music
- Watch jeopardy (yup, it's the only program she'll sit still through)
- Cuddle with Daddy's old teddy bear
- Spot dogs and birds during outside walks
- Crawl away when she's being changed or dressed
- Put her fingers up others' noses
- "Sort" the laundry
- Turn the pages to books
- "Play" the keyboard with her hands and feet

Weight: 16 lbs. 2 oz.
Length: 28 inches

Weather Nice - Gone to the Lake

Kyle went to the nearby lake to help with a BSA Eagle Scout project. Since the weather was nice, we all went to the lake in the afternoon for a hike. Brooklyn enjoyed her first time on the playground. We can't wait to return to the lake with our rowboat this Summer.

We Need a Sled

Today, our area received several inches of blowing snow. Out one window, B watched several motorized tractors and plows remove the snow from our street and our neighbors' driveways. Out the other window, she watched children sled down a hill less than 75 yards from our patio.

Crawlin', Teethin', & Climbin' Stairs

Brooklyn recently turned eight-months-old. She has two bottom teeth and loves to crawl over to the bookshelves, pull herself up, and empty them one book at a time. The other day we found her quietly ascending the carpeted stairs. Gates and door locks are now installed. What she wants to do most is walk around the house by herself - without furniture or helping hands - but luckily we've got at least a little more time before she's that mobile.
